Introducing the Eötvös Musical Talent Support Foundation

“When I was young I was often in need of help: back then there was no opportunity to purchase a good quality guitar, but even strings or sheet music were something of very limited availability. Besides my enthusiasm I could also count on my teachers, professors, friends and foreign colleagues. When I think back to these old days I can see numberless helping hands. I was so much in need of them many times!
Years have passed… Now it is my turn to give back all the good I received back in the past. I can see the examples of my former supporters: they can reach the next generation that needs helping hands now through me. I hope that with my help and support these talented people will become stronger, happier and more successful in their professional lives. And when they grow up, their turn will come to help and support the young artists who have just been born – or perhaps have not even born yet. because Music is important, but People are the most important.”

These are the thoughts of József Eötvös, the artist who founded the Eötvös Musical Talent Support Foundation in 2013 with the objective to support young, talented musicians in need with the opportunity to use master instruments, so that with a high quality guitar they could improve at their best, thus make their dreams come true as soon as possible. By now the Foundation has acquired 20 master instruments
(18 Kohno-Sakurai, 1 Franz Butscher and 1 Klaus Voigt master guitars).
